Futuristic Stylized Shoot/Vendor Jam Session!

What do you get when you mix a whimsical photographer who wants to make lighting a huge part of a bridal shoot, an event planner who is extremely creative and loves all things that shine and sparkle and a lighting company who wants to show off a little…. you get, what we like to call a vendor “jam sesh!”

This shoot went down over a year ago and it is time for it to finally shine! So many creative minds came together to provide a futuristic shoot that was out of the box awesomeness!  Our model even chopped her hair off during the shoot to create the look, I mean that is some dedication. It does not get much better than this!

From lasers to uplighting, pattern projections, black lights and paper lanterns, to snow machines and fog, we pulled out ALL of our tricks for this shoot! Come on we had to show off a little! We wanted to showcase cool lighting that bride’s don’t think about when it comes to their wedding day. Striving for a shoot that was futuristic and different from anything else that you have seen before, we ran wild with it. No cookie cutter style feature for us! With the help of genius brainstorming ideas from Cherry Blossom Planning Factory and DCPG Photography we think it really paid off!

Check out what the Photographer: DCPG, had to say about how everything came together!

“Our first go-to vendor was Stage Right Lighting. As strobists, we at DCPG know the practical and aesthetic value of adding lights to a wedding or session and we felt that lighting companies like SRL are vastly underused or ignored when it comes to styled sessions. We threw a LOT of ideas at them during our first concept meeting, but were so excited that they were on board with all the crazy things I wanted to do. On the day of the actual session, they let me direct the lighting and effects on the fly, no matter how complicated. We got to experiment with everything from basic uplighting and gobos to lasers and even the snow and smoke machines. Courtney and the rest of the onsite staff were so amazing and patient as was my husband Mendell, who had the task of helping me light our subject in tandem with SRL’s lights and effects.  “ —DCPG Photography
