“May the luck of the Irish Lead to happiest heights And the highway you travel Be lined with green lights.”
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
In honor of the St.Patty’s day, as this Irish toast says, green lights certainly line the road to happiness! What better way to exemplify this fact then to showcase an event that fully embraced the color green! Katie Dungan & Josh Williamson got married in May of 2014 at the Chrysler Museum of Art. In full St. Patty’s day fashion, we were able to transform Huber Court with lighting that started out gold for the ceremony and then was a vibrant green as guests returned after cocktail hour for the reception!
The perfect accent to their first dance was a dance floor wash. This element of lighting design allowed Haynes Photographers to create magical first dance shots were Katie & Josh were highlighted, the green on the walls was vibrant and not washed out by the flash, the couple had a warm golden glow & were the focal point of the photos!
While she was calling the green they were focusing on for the reception pistachio green, he was calling it Philadelphia Eagles green! Tomato/Tomatoe to us… either way it was gorgeous…. and to nod to Josh’s love for the Eagles, Katie surprised him with a projection of their names and date in the Eagles font around the logo on the dance floor after their first dance!
Carolyn Cox of Carolyn Celeste Weddings coordinated the event and was able to complete the logo projection surprise with a whole choreographed attire change from the groomsman and brides who quickly garbed vintage football gear just after there first dance, right before throwing the logo up! The look on Josh’s face was priceless!
Josh certainly would have been happy with the “Pistacio/Philly” Green all night, but the bride agreed that it would be best to take guests on a journey throughout the night so here are few shots of accent colors of purples that we incorporated throughout the event to match her bridesmaid’s dresses and floral done by Daevid’s of Norfolk!
This event is one of our favorites from the Chrysler Museum of Art and what better time to showcase it then on St.Patrick’s Day!
